If what he says about his past is true then I'd hardly call him a "plastic" gangster.
Used to follow him on twitter, had some very questionable views on the world but seemed pretty straight up.
Dunno if taking it to one of the most notoriously corrupt police forces in a developing country like how he has recently is either brave or just unbelievably stupid.

Ive been watching the double murder developments on some sites over here, very strange behavior from the Boys in Brown. Also a French bloke found dead on the island , hung with his hands tied behind his back , suicide apparently. With the collapse of the Ruble and all the shit that has happened here over the past year, tourism is well down and they are getting very sensitive to stories that may put people off

Centara Grand in Ao Nang. Stayed there a few days on honeymoon. Lovely hotel, still enough to do in town but not as full on as other parts. Plus you can only walk to town when the tides out otherwise its a long tail boat so feels like you're away from it all.

no mate, never met any Hammers, Only ever saw a Thai wearing a fake shirt once and he only wore it cos someone gave it to him.
Maybe we did meet in Udon '67, though not somewhere I went to often, only Big C or Lotus, now we have closer options in Loei, As for the freedom bit, yeah I know what you mean, but I fancy a spell where I'm free to have a punt and most importantly earn some money. I plan to be back in a few years, hopefully they'll make things easier for legit foreigners to live and work, rather than distrust everyone.

Don't go to Thailand! Unless you like military dictatorships, corruption, institutionalised racism, bent as fuck cops and scams on every corner.
For the record. I've recently left after 11 years living inThailand due to the ridiculous shit that goes on (as a tourist you won't notice most of it).
All the tourist/beach areas have their share of sleeze. If you insist on going, do not, under any circumstances HIRE A JET SKI, many a holiday is ruined by these scamming cunts and their police cohorts. Do not, under any circumstances, hand over your passport as collateral for renting anything. If you rent a car, rent from a reputable company, and know in advance that the locals are officially the world's worst drivers (a product of police corruption) and, that if you have an accident it is always your fault regardless, and that, you'll need a fair wad to pay your out of the mess.
Just my opinion, but the beaches are average (I do however compare with Australia) the water is like swimming in a bath and you will get harassed by hawkers on most beaches.
BTW, I love Thailand and will return one day. Most tourists have great holiday experiences and often go back there for more, yet, for the unaware there can be very bad experiences, and, I only offer this advice as I believe the more you are aware of the possibilities the safer your trip will be.
I expect a full account of your holiday on your return.
